Jesus teaches us that true followers are known by their fruit. This fruit represents the outward manifestation of our inner faith and character. As you meditate on this passage, examine your own life. What kind of fruit are you bearing? Do your actions, words, and attitudes reflect Christ's love and teachings? Remember, good fruit doesn't grow overnight; it results from consistent nurturing and connection to the true vine, Jesus Christ.
Jesus’s words in Matthew 7:15-20 serve as both a warning and a challenge. He warns us to be cautious of false prophets who disguise themselves in the appearance of righteousness but whose hearts are far from God. Just as a tree is known by its fruit, so are people who are known by their actions. A healthy tree bears good fruit, and a diseased tree bears bad fruit.
