Reading: Romans 12:21 & Proverbs 25:21-22

The Church’s Response To God’s Grace is to Love and Serve its Local Community Unconditionally.

Devotional:

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." This final verse encapsulates the heart of Christian engagement with the world. It's a call to active resistance against evil, not through force or retaliation, but through the power of good.

In a world that often seems dominated by darkness, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But this verse reminds us that we're not passive victims. We're called to be overcomers. Our weapon in this spiritual battle is goodness itself.

Romans 12 and Proverbs 25's instruction to “heap burning coals on his head” refers to the Egyptian practice of placing a pan of burning charcoal on one’s head, which indicates penitence.
