And Simon answered, “Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.” Luke 5:5

Peter’s response to Jesus’ command is honest: “We toiled all night and took nothing.” But then he adds, “But at Your word, I will let down the nets.” That is reluctant obedience; tired, unsure, but willing.

Many leaders believe that obedience must be accompanied by confidence to be effective. But Jesus honors faith that moves, not just faith that feels strong. When we lead with trust, even uncertain trust, we make room for God to show up in ways we didn’t expect.

Leadership doesn’t always begin with deep conviction. Sometimes it begins with exhausted obedience. And that’s enough.

Key Truth: Obedience is the gateway to clarity and calling, even when it feels uncertain

Prayer: Jesus, I trust Your word more than my frustration. Help me obey, even when I’m unsure.
